Log My Dog Tag

One of our canines always accompanies us while geocaching. This is a fun dog tag which I have used to introduce others to our hobby while running errands, enjoying the park and even when I was being questioned by security during a geocache search. "Woody" has been logged and we hope to see others.

We think this is a great idea. But would love to see you come up with more designs to choose from. Maybe designs like just a bone, geo-logo, signal the frog, etc. Looking forward to buying this one despite that issue. But figured we would suggest it.

Just bought this for my toy-yorkie.LOVE the look of it and the size is perfect for his collar. However I have a question. When I activate this tag do I set it as a collectable? Is that how this works or do I leave that box unchecked? Obviously the tag will stay in my possession but just wondering for proper activation.

I love this tag. It's durable and it gives people a reason to pet my dog (he loves attention!). It's my favorite trackable I own.

Another cacher pointed out this tag after a placed a few caches in tribute to my Rescue Dog Vivian. Cachers that notice it think it is a great idea and are always excited to "Log My Dog". So far the tag has held up great! Looks great too!

My dog's been wearing his "Log My Dog" (right along with all his other jinglies) for months now.... and he LOVES to shake around his tags like crazy when he walks! Absolutely zero problems. All the print is still present on both front and back. Very happy with our "Log My Dog"!

I LIKE THE LOOKS & SIZE OF THEM. We'll see how my 3 boys do with them, as of now might get them for some friends as well.

This looked like a fun item. My doggie, Ditto, has been wearing it for a couple of weeks.

Unfortunately, all the printed letters on the side that has the tracking # have already rubbed off. The item is made so that the code # is etched in, but the rest of the information ("Log my Dog" , and all of the other lettering) almost immediately is rubbed off from contact with the other tags on her collar. I'm afraid there's no way to avoid this. I looked at the other tags that Ditto has, and I quickly realized that all the information on the other tags is etched into the tag. NOT printed onto the tag.

It is apparent that the way this method of manufacture is inadequate for a dog tag. I believe they need to change the product so that all the information is etched into the tag. Then people should be instructed to make sure the picture of "tracker", on the other side of the tag, is facing away from all other tags on the dog's collar (so that it won't rub off as well).

***UPDATE***

Because of helpful reviews like this one, we have upgraded our Log My Dog Tags to engraved lettering, rather than the printed version sold in the past. We really appreciate your feedback, and will continue to try to make the best products available to cachers.
