Nice idea but quality is LACKING!! Review by Pikal & Giles the Trackabulldog

I bought this product for a tricky cache along side a high muggle area. It worked VERY well blending right in so muggles never even knew it was there. BUT like another review said it just does not stand up to the elements! It not only rusted shut solid but also the magnet just fell off one day. The bolt did last almost a whole year but I really thought it would last longer. I did get my next one from ebay thinking it might last longer...WRONG! That one only lasted about 3 months and even then I had to break the rust free every couple weeks. I will be buying the Geocache one again here soon but now I know it's about a year untill it's garbage.

Logos gave it away--scrape off logos for better camo Review by Scout Rangers

This really does look like a bolt, except for the logos. I placed one in plain sight among other real bolts on a wire clamp on a power pole wire stay, and it blended in pretty well, except that the logos finally gave it away. It was muggled within a month. I will willingly buy another one (it's one of the few hides a geocacher can't make as well as a manufacturer), but when I get this one I will put the wire brush on my rotary tool and scrape off those unnecessary and unhelpful logos. (I don't buy products to advertise for the products' sellers. Getting rid of logos is liberating.)

I received this one today and it actually looks like a real bolt! I was hesistant to buy this at first, because I figured it would look fake...boy was I shocked!

If you've been thinking about pulling the trigger on this one but you're on the fence, go for it!!

i haven't bought one of these, but i found one in Boston. very fun to find, quite clever, and extremely stealthy. unless it was hidden very poorly, i can't imagine it getting muggled. very cool container for an urban hide.

Great idea, but one tiny flaw Review by GeoJoelNE

I ordered 2 of these, one in Silver and one in Rust and so far I have only placed the Rust color and it has so far Protected the non water proof log (I replaced the waterproof log because it didn't have a FTF box.) very well and I have had most finders say in their logs they loved the container. I have although found one flaw while I went to check the log and that was the rust paint had a chip probably a Centimeter wide. I doubt that this was a problem in the paint and someone just handled it too rough but I also don't see many places it could have been damaged on, as the ground where I put it is grass and there isn't much around. But overall this is a great product and I would highly recommend this for anyone trying to put out a sneaky hide. Thanks for the product!

Great product.....maybe too good? Review by Thepublixeye

I've purchased this twice and used as stage 1of a multi. Both times, the bolt was taken. Maybe poor placement, but definitely poor judgement from whomever took them. I ended up archiving the cache :(. The product is excellent. Many compliments from those that got to enjoy the hide!

Not so great! Review by Prof. Pikal

I do have to say I love the idea and the product is great at first..... but this cache has been a problem lately. Mine is placed in Florida so the moisture is high but it rusted up so, so bad!! You can't even get it open. The cache did last about 10 months but I really thought it would be able to withstand the elements... I was wrong.
If you don't mind replacing it yearly then it is ok but I think I will try the eBay version next.

I stuck one of these on an old rusty footbridge and it looks exactly like it's part of it! the rust finish stays on nicely, but the toggle is easy to lose, we've had to replace it with a paperclip when somebody dropped it in the water.

Alas, the Hook to pull out the log is constantly getting lost. Review by Oh it's a micro

I have clipped and hooked paperclips to help get the log out, and those got lost too.

I used the typical urban hiding place, and since many look for a key box, THIS is hilarious. [got the silver one] and added a large washer and some loose nuts...around so it looks like sloppy installation on the pole....

Many first time cachers have signed the log...and some only signed the site...then, went back after looking at this shop....

Good acceptance on the field Review by hjsierra

Great design and concept. Per my observations on similar nanos, the paper log needs to be taped to the 'L' shaped magnetic tool to avoid losing it on the sand or grass. Else, Geocache owners instructions should include bring extraction tool.
